The Buyers Guide To The Best Cheap Smartwatch

Before you start browsing for your next smartwatch, it’s worth thinking about a couple of things. Here are some of the things I’d check out before making a purchase:

Screen Size

One of the main benefits of having a smartwatch is not having to take your phone out of your pocket. But, if the screen is to small, all the information would be eligible. Find a screen size that suits you, without feeling too chunky.

Features

Even the best cheap smartwatches come with plenty of features for you to get stuck into. These can include fitness tracking, heart rate monitoring, sleep tracking, and much more. Think about what features will make your life better to help you find the best smartwatch.

Battery Life

If your as tired as I am of charging your devices at the end of each day, then getting a smartwatch with a long battery life can be extremely beneficial. Some will last up to 10-days before they need charging, others are lucky to get 24 hours.

Sim Card

Some smartwatches don't even need to be connected to a smartphone to work. With the addition of a 2G sim card, you can turn your watch into a stand-alone smartphone. They'll be able to run Facebook and make phone calls and much more the choice is yours.

What Other People Say

They loved the smartwatch, the design small and sleek, and looked very much like the Fitbit Versa. They really liked how nice the screen was, it was easy to control and was bright enough to see any time of day. Their favorite feature was being able to track there sleep.

It was one of the best cheap smartwatches they had tried; they claimed it would be perfect for someone not ready on a Fitbit Versa or the Apple Watch series. The instructions from the App made everything easy to follow and setup. All you had to do is scan the QR code to find the Apps.

Final Verdict

I was pleasantly surprised by the performance, it’s honestly up there with the Fitbit Versa, except this cheap smartwatch was about a quarter of the price. For that price, you get a whole range of features for you to dive into, including great battery life, fitness tracking, heart rate monitoring, and much more.

I loved the display on the cheap smartwatch; it made everything easy to understand and control. It was also pretty neat that their smartwatches could recognize up to nine exercises. The Bluetooth smartwatch comes with several features for you to get stuck into.

Some of which include a Pedometer, Sedentary reminder, sleep monitoring.

You can even take control of your camera using the smartwatch, or use the HD camera included with the watch.

The watch has a great battery life; it can last up to 5-7 days on standby mode.

Once the battery has died, it will take around 30 minutes to charge the smartwatch fully. The smartwatch is compatible with Android and iOS, which gives you more options than other watches.

Key Features

  • Sim card compatible
  • 1.54" touchscreen
  • Camera control
  • Two-Way Anti-Lost

What Other People Say

The price was fantastic; they never thought they’d get a smartwatch this good for so cheap. So far, they had been wearing the watch for about four days. The whole thing was straightforward to set up, and they loved the way it managed the Apps.

It made checking your notifications quicker by eliminating the need to reach into your pocket or bag. They were also pretty pleased with the battery life; they rarely had to charge it. And the best part was the ability to shower with the watch on.

Final Verdict

Everything worked pretty well when you consider it’s so cheap. One thing I should note is the battery need charging more often then people claimed. If you don’t use it very much, it’s best to turn off the watch, this way it saves the battery.

The fitness tracking side of things seemed to work well, although I didn’t test how accurate it was. One of my favorite parts of this watch was being able to use it as a remote camera. The HD screen meant the images were super clear all of the time.

What We Liked

  • Runs Smoothy
  • Visually appealing
  • Great Price
  • Comes with screen protectors
  • Shock resistant

What We Didn’t Like

  • Things get Stuck to it easily

They Loved their new watch, it completed every task they needed and much, much more. They used it to keep track of their daily fitness goals and sleeping habits. So far, it had really helped them work out where they went wrong and how they could improve.

The App that the smartwatch comes with was highly intuitive and very easy to use. The biggest complaint was not being able to take it off at night if they were tracking their sleep. And lastly, they couldn’t believe how long the battery lasted, after 10-days they were still at 22%.

Final Verdict

If you don’t have a big budget for one of the more expensive brands, then this could be the answer to your problems. The step counter was just as accurate as any other smartwatch. You couldn’t even trick the step-o-meter into giving you extra steps.

The heart sensor also performed very accurately, although it did take longer to get a reading than other more expensive brands. Overall it has a great design and functions every bit as well as the Fitbit Versa.

What We Liked

  • Responsive touchscreen
  • The App syncs with Apple health
  • Very comfortable
  • Provides accurate readings

What We Didn’t Like

  • Translation issues in the App

You get a selection of three colors Black, Pink, and Gold; the colors surround the outside of the 1.54 “screen.

Each watch comes with an 8GB memory card and a screen protector, no more worrying about scratching your HD display screen.

When combined with a 2G sim card, the smartwatch will operate as a stand-alone phone.

The smartwatch connects to your phone using Bluetooth technology; this enables you to play music, make phone calls, check the call log, and so much more.

It comes with several other features to help improve your life, for example, fitness tracking, sleep tracking, and more.

The smartwatch is compatible with several phone providers, including Samsung, Sony, and Google, but unfortunately, it fails to connect to iOS.

The smartwatch will vibrate to let you know of any notifications, and if a phone call comes in you’ll be able to answer the phone with the watch.

Key Features

  • Works as a stand-alone phone
  • Sleep monitoring
  • Pedometer
  • Syncs phone calls
  • Remote 0.3 Mp camera

What Other People Say

Considering how cheap the watch is, they were surprised how many people asked if it was in the Apple watch series. They really liked the feel of the watch, it had a similar weight and size to their old Apple watch, but this was a lower profile and felt more comfortable.

Another user claimed to have brought a few smart watched in their lifetime, but this was by far the most comfortable they owned. The whole design was very user friendly, and the interface of the App made it very easy to understand.

Final Verdict

It was pretty surprising how well it worked, considering it was so cheap. It comes with an 8GB memory card to get you going but will support a 16GB if it needs to. The design of the smartwatch was outstanding and rarely felt out of place on the wrist.

The interface of the watch was fantastic; it made managing your smartphone very easy. I also really like how you could turn the watch into its very own phone. One thing to now was the screen was hard to use at times due to my chunky fingers.

What We Liked

  • Supports Micro SD cards
  • Camera
  • Stand-alone phone

What We Didn’t Like

  • Limited features for iOS
  • Heart rate and sleep monitor poor

Their cheap smartwatches come in four colors including Black, White, Pink, and Silver each color provides it’s own unique feel to the watch series.

By adding a sim card to the smartwatches, you can turn the watch into your very own mini phone

The watch features Bluetooth, which is used to connect your phone.

The smartwatch allows you to take control of features like fitness tracking, music player, camera, and plenty of apps.

By downloading their free to use App, any data that you watch has collected will be transferred to your smartwatch.

From the watch, you’ll receive notifications from apps such as Facebook, Twitter, and Whatsapp.

With this smartwatch, you get days of battery life before you have to think about charging it. This is due to the updated battery back, which kicks out 280 MAh.

Not only do you get days of battery life, but it can also be connected to iOS or Android, depending on your preferences.

Key Features

  • 1.3-inch screen
  • Activity tracking
  • Remote camera
  • Sleep monitoring
  • Music control
  • Works as a stand-alone phone

What Other People Say

As cheap smartwatches go, they were pretty surprised by how fast and responsive the watch is. They wanted to mention to gain access to all of the smartwatches features you needed to add a sim card. This was more for apps like Facebook, Twitter extra.

Other customers were not too happy with the smartwatch itself but said the customer service was excellent. The watch was terrible, the sleep monitor didn’t work, and it didn’t even have a heart rate monitor. And that wasn’t even the worst part; the watch was constantly disconnecting from there phone.

Final Verdict

Personally, this cheap smartwatch wasn’t for me, don’t get me the wrong the price is excellent, but I think it lacks simple features like a heart rate tracker. It’s also pretty dependant on using a sim card and micro SD card; without them, you miss out on some key feature.

I wasn’t a fan of the smartwatches strap; it was cheap and didn’t look like it would last more than a month. They are a few good points; the interface is simple to understand and easy to use, which is excellent. The battery life wasn’t too bad either; it would last a couple of days before it needs charging.

What We Liked

  • Cheap smartwatch
  • Simple interface
  • Easy to use

What We Didn’t Like

  • No heart rate tracking
  • Needs a Sim & SD card for full features
  • Poor watch strap
  • Muffled audio

But This Is The Best Cheap Smartwatch

For me, it has to the Wilful smartwatch it provides users with excellent features that rival the apple watch series and Fitbit Versa.

It may not have been as accurate, but you have to remember this is less than a quarter of the price.

So if you’re looking for the best cheap smartwatches, you’ll find it hard to find anything better for the same budget.

The battery life on the watch was perfect; the problem was the App drained the battery on your phone.

Willful Smartwatch

I’m guessing this is due to the smartphone continually trying to upload the data from the watch. One thing I’d love to see added is the ability to use Google Assistant; I feel it would really add to the cheap smartwatches profile.

There you have it. They are the best cheap smartwatches the market currently has to offer. As you may have noticed, they are heavily based on the more advanced Apple watch series and Fitbit Versa range.

If you have any questions or feel that missed something out, don’t forget to comment below and I’ll get back to you. And while we’re talking about smart wearables, you should check out my round-up review of the best smart ring.
