#1 – Husqvarna Automower 315X

BEST ROBOTIC MOWER

Husqvarna Automower 315X

The Husqvarna Automower 315X helps you to keep your garden well maintained in the easiest way possible.

Everything works at the touch of a button; you can even use the voice controls supplied by Google Home and Amazon Alexa

Through the App, you can manage the schedule and track its location.

The Husqvarna Automower is guided by the perimeter wire, which stops it rolling off the edge.

Once the mower is either running out of battery or finished cutting the lawn, it will automatically return to the charging base for a quick recharge.

What time of day or night it is doesn’t matter, it’s quiet enough to run all night and durable enough to run in the rain.

After it’s finished mowing the lawn, there’s no need to empty any bags, the mower creates fine grass cuttings, which acts as a natural fertilizer. The Husqvarna Automower is suitable for up to 0.4 acres of land and can handle a 22° incline.

Key Features

  • Voice Controls
  • GPS Navigation
  • Cut Height: 0.8-2.4”
  • Noise Level: 60 Db
  • Covers 0.4 acres
  • Suitable for a 22° slope

What Other People Say

One customer had owned the robot lawnmower for around three weeks. And, in that time, was utterly blown away with its cutting ability. They were astonished by how well it went through long grass. They wanted to wake up to freshly cut grass, so ran it through the night, by the time they’d woken up, over 60% of their 0.25 acres of land was cut.

The maintenance mode was perfect at keeping things looking clean and fresh. Other customers were also delighted with the mower, although a couple had to call out an installer to help them out. Once everything was set up, the mower did an excellent job of keeping the lawn trimmed.

Final Verdict

It’s a fantastic device if you’re looking to gain a little extra time; the thing is, it’s very costly, so you’d have to really value your time. It runs at about 60 Db, which means you can’t hear it throughout the day and can hardly hear a noise at night.

The lawnmower has cellular technology built-in, this means you can control the mower no matter where you are in the world. It was also great to see that the robot mower included GPS tracking; it meant it could never get lost or stolen.

What We Liked

  • Amazing overall cutting performance
  • Has Cellular, GPS, and Bluetooth
  • Fantastic App
  • Runs 60 Db

What We Didn’t Like

  • Very Expensive
  • No rain sensors

#2 – WORX Landroid WR140 M

The fully automated lawn mower can cut an area up to 0.25 acres. To make it better, it’s super simple to set up the device.

All you have to do is set the boundary wire and the charging base.

From the App, you can measure the diameter of your garden, which helps provide a more accurate cut.

Not only does the App allow you to measure your lawn, but you can also check the lawnmower’s progress, keep up to date with software releases, update and adjust schedules, and so much more.

WORX Landroid uses a patented AIA technology to navigate around your garden.

The lawnmower can navigate its way up 20° slopes and tackle obstacles by bumping them out of the way or moving around them.

It also features a rain sensor; as soon as any rain is detected, it will return to the dock and wait for it to stop.

Key Features

  • Works with Alexa
  • Cut Height: 1.9-3.5"
  • Suitable for 20° slopes
  • Covers 0.25 acres
  • Can add GPS location
  • Rain Detector

What Other People Say

One consumer couldn’t wait to tell people how great the lawn mower was. There were no issues installing it when compared with other mowers. They didn’t even have to add new perimeter wire; they could use the existing wiring from their previous Landroid.

Another person mentioned that they had a lot of fence posts and walkways, at first they weren’t sure how it would handle it. But, in the end, there was nothing to fear; it had no issues navigating its way around the garden. After their first day using it, they had already received compliments from their neighbors.

Final Verdict

It’s one of the cheapest mid-range lawn mowers out there, but that does mean it misses out on some features. Luckily you have the option of adding GPS and a whole range of other features, but unfortunately, this will add to the overall price of the mower.

The rain detect feature was outstanding as soon as the rain started, it made its way back to the charging dock until it stopped. As for the cutting, it worked very well; it made it right up to the edges to make sure nothing was left behind. For the price, it’s really hard to fault it.

What We Liked

  • Cuts right to the edge
  • GPS (optional extras)
  • Runs smoothly

What We Didn’t Like

  • No remote control

#3 – Husqvarna Automower 115H

Again Husqvarna designed their robot to help you maintain your garden.

To control the robotic mower, you can download the free to use Connect@Home App. From there, you can set and adjust your schedules accordingly.

It also features Bluetooth technology, which you can connect to from up to 100 ft away.

It uses a series of hidden boundary wires to help your robot lawn mower navigate its way around the garden.

They claim the mower is suitable for yards up to 0.4 acres and will tackle slops up to 17°, and grass up to 3.6″ tall down to 2″. Any cuttings will be turned to mulch for the garden.

Once the robot runs out of charge, it will start to make it’s way back to the base station. It takes around 60 minutes for it to receive a full charge, and can cut the grass for 60 minutes. The lawn mower is covered with a limited 2-year warranty program for residential use.

Key Features

  • Cutting Height: 2-3.6"
  • Run Time: 60 minutes
  • GPS and anti-theft alarm and code
  • Scheduling
  • Covers 0.4 acres
  • Tackles 17° slopes

What Other People Say

Some people were struggling to get the robot mower working, which is why they got the professional installer out to help them. Once installed, it was a top-quality piece of kit; it cut the grass with minimal effort. They got great support from the team, so far, they have been thrilled with the results.

Another customer couldn’t help but mention how excellent the mower was. But, they also said how expensive it is, but they felt it was worth it not having to cut the lawn anymore. And although it had security features, they weren’t that great; they thought it was best kept in a fenced yard.

Final Verdict

This is a great entry-level mower; the problem is the price; it doesn’t offer enough features. Luckily it does work very well at keeping a well-maintained garden. It uses a simple layout, which makes the lawn mower very easy to control.

It would be great to see a rain sensor added to the device, as yet it just carries on mowing no matter what the weather. Overall it’s not bad; it’s just not the best robotic mower either. In the end, this means it doesn’t justify the high price.

What We Liked

  • Guidewire helps it navigate
  • Good cutting range
  • Handles 17° slopes
  • Returns to the base station

What We Didn’t Like

  • Short battery life
  • No rain sensor

The Gardena 4069 makes light work of your garden with precision trimming; it cuts to the height of 0.7″ to 2″ in length.

You can set the robotic lawn mower for different times or specific days; this way, you can work it around your schedule.

The super quite device runs at roughly 58 Db, which is less than your average air conditioner.

Within its 60-minute battery life, it can cover nearly 500ft, making this one of the slowest on our lists, so it’s better for smaller yards.

It will return to the charging station once it’s running low on battery power; it takes around 50-minutes to charge. It features anti-theft protection, which helps give you greater peace of mind it won’t get stolen from your garden

It comes with boundary wires to help support the robotic lawn mower as it navigates around your borders. The grass cuttings get left on the floor, which acts as compost, leaving your grass greener than ever before.

Key Features

  • Cut Height: 0.7"-2"
  • Runs at 58 Db
  • Charge Time: 50 minutes
  • Resumes Mowing after charging
  • Suitable for 0.2 acres
  • Great Scheduling options

What Other People Say

They liked not having to spend so much time in the garden, trying to make everything perfect. Everything was easy to install; all they had to do was follow the instruction manual, step by step. The grass looked perfect after each cut, and the scheduling system meant they rarely had to think about the lawn.

Others weren’t sure how they felt about the robotic lawn mower. They claimed it had no shortcomings, but it was unreasonably expensive for what it offered. They would have liked to see a rain sensor at least; it would have made the lawn mower a little more worth it.

Final Verdict

The whole thing was incredibly easy to set up, which was nice to see when you compare it to other models. One charge lasted around 60 minutes before it returned to base. But I did have a problem with the price they were charging for the few features you got.

It only comes with the very basics features for a mid-range lawn mower price, which is disappointing. And it doesn’t even have that great of a range. The one thing this robotic lawn mower does well at is cutting the grass, it performs effortlessly and has an excellent cutting width.

What We Liked

  • Anti-theft technology
  • Returns from were it left off
  • Easy to install
  • Great scheduling

What We Didn’t Like

  • No rain sensor
  • Expensive

#5 – Robomow RS612

Last Amazon price update was: January 10, 2023 7:18 pm

It features dual cutting blades with a cutting width of 22″ which can handle 0.25 acres of land.

The robotic lawn mower can work on a gradient of 30% or an incline of 20°.

By using the personalized App, you can set out zones within your yard for your mower to tackle at specific times of the day.

My Robomow App uses Bluetooth technology and Wifi technology to let you control your robotic mower from anywhere in the world.

You can even connect the App to your “Works With Alexa” list. All you have to do is add it to the skills. It’s super easy to install and setup, just layout out the pegs and follow the instructions.

The robot lawn mower returns to the charging station once the battery is low; once the battery is charged, it will return to cutting the grass.

Key Features

  • Program four zones
  • Mobile App
  • Suitable for 20° or 35% incline
  • Eco eode
  • Heavy duty blades
  • Anti-Theft

What Other People Say

After they had worked out how to set it up, the robotic lawn mower came in very handy. The problem was it took them weeks to get it going. And to make it worse, it was nearly impossible to get through to the customer care service.

Other customers weren’t happy with it, the features the App promised rarely worked. Another said the charging head had already fallen off twice. In the end, the robotic lawn mower didn’t even make it a whole year.

Final Verdict

It’s strange, for a product that showed so much promise and let itself down, and here’s why it did: The build quality overall was poor, which meant parts were often breaking off. And to make it worse, the warranty only lasted 1-year, which is the shortest out all the mowers on the list.

The App also promised so many features, but in the end, most of them didn’t work. But I remain optimistic that they were just a few teething problems that will be fixed. For now, though, it isn’t entirely worth the huge price tag that comes with it.

What We Liked

  • You can set up to four zones
  • Rain Sensors
  • Alexa integration

What We Didn’t Like

  • Only a 1-year warranty
  • Poor App
  • Complicated setup

But This Is The Best Robot Lawn Mower

I loved the Husqvarna Automower 315X; it performed excellently at cutting the grass to your desired length. The robotic mower also comes with a whole range of features for you to dig in to. `

It was great to see GPS security protection on the robot mower. If anyone steals the mower, you’ll be able to track it with the App.

Husqvarna Automower 315X

It could also cover a vast area on a single charge, then return to base once it had finished. A nice touch was the addition of Google Home and Amazon Alexa; it gave the robotic mowers an interactive feel. So, if you are looking for the best, this robot lawn mower is for you.

It’s a shame that the price of their robotic mowers is so high and that it didn’t feature a rain detection sensor. If you’re looking for a cheaper option with rain detection sensors, then the WORX WR140 Landroid would be an excellent choice for you.

Hopefully, this has helped guide you in finding the robot lawn mower for you. If you think I’ve missed something, or have a burning question, feel free to comment below and I’ll get back to you.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, they really do work, and pretty effectively. Robot lawn mowers work in a very similar way as a Roomba, except for the obvious. They use GPS and guide wires to work it’s way around your garden, cutting the grass in the most effective way possible. Here’s a video of one in action:

How long a robot mower will last vary on a few factors, to start with how well you maintain it, and what model it is. Some models of robotic mowers claim to be able to last up to 10-years, but this means you must take it for regular servicing. It’s more likely can expect 5-6 years from robot mowers before the battery dies and needs replacing.
How much a robot lawnmower will cost really comes down to what you’re looking for. For the bottom level mower, you can expect to pay around $600-$700, but you really don’t see a lot of features included for that price. Then you go to the top of the range models, which could set you back at least $3,400. For that money, you’ll get plenty of features, but it is a little costly. Your best bet is the mid-range level, which is anywhere between $1,000-$2,000.
Most robotic lawn mowers are safe, but to make sure you should check for emergency cut-offs. If the robot mower gets picked up the blades will shut off. It’s this feature that makes robotic lawn mowers safer than standard mowers. You check out the Husqvarna website to check out their safety features.
The biggest benefit of a lawnmower is evident; You don’t have to be stressed thinking that you need to spend time doing what a lawnmower already does by itself. You also won’t need expensive and inconsistent landscapers wandering through your yard. If you need to do other stuff you don’t have to worry because smart technology makes your life easier with a machine like this that will allow you to have your time while it’s doing its job.
